If you use contact cement, as mentioned, make sure you do it correctly. Like ed mentioned, you apply the cement on both sides, wait for it to dry and them put the two together. Always follow the instructions on the jar. it is a 1/8" thick oak panel. and the side of the cabinet is only 1" thickness.
